Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is Pro Shot® Floor Restorer a new product?

No. Pro Shot® Floor Restorer has been sold for more than twenty years. It was originally brought to industry and sold in 55-gallon drums; then was sold on one of the major home shopping channels, and has been selling for more than 10 consecutive years in popular mail-order catalogs.

2. What is Pro Shot® Floor Restorer?

Pro Shot® Floor Restorer is an industrial strength, water-based, polymer floor restorer & finish.

3. Can Pro Shot® Floor Restorer be used on any floor?

Pro Shot® Floor Restorer works great on “sealed hardwood, vinyl, linoleum, no-wax, laminates, bamboo, flagstone, terrazzo, concrete, slate, and most ceramic tile floors.” However, you should know that floors vary greatly. There are certain types of floors, like marble and other porous type floors that could absorb Pro Shot® Floor Restorer. If Pro Shot® is absorbed into the floor, it will help seal the floor; however, the floor will usually turn a little darker. If you want the floor to shine more brilliantly, you can apply a second coat.

4. I’m concerned about the dangers of petroleum. Do Pro Shot® products contain petroleum?

No, Pro Shot® products contain no petroleum. They are water-based products, making them safer for everyone.

5. How do I apply Pro Shot® Floor Restorer?

You apply Pro Shot® Floor Restorer to a clean and dry floor using a sponge mop or lambswool applicator. If you have used oil or soap products in the past, you should remove those products before applying Pro Shot® Floor Restorer. Pour a moderate amount of Pro Shot onto the floor and simply glide the sponge mop back and forth one time. Do not put any pressure on the mop and do not work the product into the floor. Pro Shot® Floor Restorer was designed to adhere to the surface of the floor.

6. Can I apply Pro Shot® Floor Restorer with an ordinary string mop?

No, do not use a string mop to apply Pro Shot® Floor Restorer or any floor finish, or it will streak.

7. Can I apply Pro Shot® Floor Restorer to a wet floor?

No, do not apply Pro Shot® Floor Restorer to a wet floor. The floor must be completely dry before application. If you do apply it to a wet floor, the floor will not shine.

8. Can Pro Shot® Floor Restorer be applied over a previously waxed floor?

No. You should first remove the previous wax, clean and dry the floor, and then apply Pro Shot® Floor Restorer. Pro Shot® needs a dry surface to stick to. Applying Pro Shot® on top of wax would be like putting lipstick on top of Vaseline.

9. How often should I reapply Pro Shot® Floor Restorer?

This will vary for several reasons. The amount of traffic and the amount of abuse to your floor will determine how often you apply Pro Shot® Floor Restorer. If you have kids and pets, you’ll need to apply Pro Shot® Floor Restorer more often than someone without kids or pets.

10. Will Pro Shot® Floor Restorer help protect my floors?

Yes, Pro Shot® Floor Restorer will help seal and protect your floors from spills, powdering, yellowing, black heel marks, detergents, and coffee and tea stains. However, you must clean up spills immediately and should always keep the floor dry.

11. Will Pro Shot® Floor Restorer hide the scratches in my floor?

Pro Shot® Floor Restorer will help hide the scratches in your floor by making them less noticeable. Pro Shot® Floor Restorer dries to a clear, brilliant finish, which makes the scratches less noticeable.

12. Why is Pro Shot® Floor Restorer peeling from my floor?

There are two reasons why this could happen. First, there was a product that you previously used still on the floor. Maybe, oil or soap was previously used. Make sure you remove prior products from the floor before you apply Pro Shot® Floor Restorer. Second, you may have applied Pro Shot Floor Restorer too thin and there isn’t enough product to stick to the floor. Try a second coat.

13. How do I remove Pro Shot® Floor Restorer from my baseboard or countertop?

You can try a little nail polish remover on a rag. You need to wipe it back and forth lightly, but be quick.

14. Is Pro Shot® Floor Restorer only available in a 32-oz size?

No. You can order Pro Shot® Floor Restorer in a one-gallon, five-gallon, or 55-gallon drum directly from Pro Shot Corporation. For more information, please visit: http://www.proshotcorporation.com/where-to-buy.
